Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields leaves Michigan game with injury, returns to throw touchdown on first play


ANN ARBOR, Michigan – Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields left the game with an apparent left knee injury midway through the third quarter of Saturday’s game at Michigan. Chris Chugunov entered the game with the Buckeyes leading 35-16 with 7:41 left in the third quarter. Fields had just completed a pass to Austin Mack but took a hit on the play and did not immediately get up. He appeared to be in pain and could be seen discussing the incident with the athletic trainers who came onto the field. Ohio State coach Ryan Day also came out to check on Fields, who eventually left the field under his own power with a slight limp. He went to the medical tent, but eventually emerged with a brace on his left knee. Fields was out of the game for seven plays and approximately four minutes of game time. On the first play…
