COLUMBUS, Ohio – Former Ohio State football quarterback Ron Maciejowksi intimately remembers when a loss to Michigan could capsize a brilliant Buckeye season. Ohio State spent the first nine weeks of the 1969 season at No. 1. If the Buckeyes could beat a solid Wolverines team in Ann Arbor to close the regular season, they would repeat as national champions and be set up for a strong run at a third title the following season. Instead, the 24-12 loss reverberates to this day.
