COLUMBUS, Ohio — For a few moments on Saturday afternoon, Ohio State football coach Ryan Day saw his team’s season at a crossroads. Starting quarterback Justin Fields took a sack late in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s win over Penn State and did not immediately get up. Athletic trainers went onto the field to attend to the sophomore. Eventually, however, Fields popped up and trotted back to the Buckeyes’ sideline. That is the last image observers outside the program have of Fields. He was not brought to interviews following the 28-17 victory and was not available to reporters for Tuesday’s interview session.
