Does Ohio State football control its destiny for No. 1 in the College Football Playoff?


COLUMBUS, Ohio – Conventional wisdom gave Ohio State football a chance to reclaim the No. 1 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings if it ran the table through the Big Ten championship game. The CFP selection committee accelerated that time timetable Tuesday night, putting the Buckeyes back at No. 1 ahead of No. 2 LSU. Ohio State’s victory over Penn State — its third win over a top-19 team in the updated CFP rankings — gave the committee an important new data point to consider.
