Penn State did not play its best game, and did not have all of its best players available for a full 60 minutes, on Saturday at Ohio State. And yet, the Lions still were very competitive and within a score for a bit thanks to a ferocious comeback in the third quarter against one of the nation’s best college football teams. Moral victories are hard to stomach for teams and fan bases with high expectations, and make no mistake: The Lions and their loyal followers certainly believe that they can do great things, and they did at Ohio Stadium, albeit not often enough.
