Ohio State basketball’s winning streak reaches five after 85-46 win over Purdue Fort Wayne


COLUMBUS, Ohio — For the fifth straight game, Ohio State basketball managed to put together a stout defensive performance as it knocked off Purdue Fort Wayne 85-46. No team has shot better than 35 percent on the Buckeyes this season as the Mastodons shot just 31.5 percent. Ohio State took a 42-25 lead in the first half despite some sloppy play offensively and cold night from three-point range. Defensively it forced seven Purdue Fort Wayne first-half turnovers, and only Marcus DeBerry seemed to find a rhythm scoring 12 points to lead the Mastodons. He ended the night with 16 points. The Buckeyes continued to have success in the second half leading by as much as 46 points while Purdue Fort Wayne still struggled to score.
