COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State football will again rely on young depth at defensive end at Rutgers on Saturday. Either sophomore Tyreke Smith or Tyler Friday will start at one defensive end spot, and either freshman Zach Harrison or redshirt freshman Javontae Jean-Baptiste will start at the other. Regular starting defensive ends Chase Young (suspension) and Jonathon Cooper (injury) are both inactive for Saturday. Smith started and recorded two of the Buckeyes’ seven sacks in last Saturday’s 73-14 victory over Maryland. Harrison made his first career start at the other spot and contributed one sack. With Austin Mack already declared out, freshman Jameson Williams is listed as the backup to Chris Olave at “Z” receiver.
