Penn State’s Sean Clifford isn’t using lack of recruitment from Ohio State football as extra motivation Saturday


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Sean Clifford was rated as the nation’s No. 196 overall player and the No. 8 pro-style quarterback in the class of 2017. By the time he graduated from Cincinnati’s St. Xavier High School, he held 17 scholarship offers. But none of them was from Ohio State. Clifford didn’t get an offer from his home school. Neither has his brother Liam Clifford, who is a three-star athlete in the Nittany Lions’ 2021 recruiting class. Both were on Ohio State’s radar at one point. Sean had conversations with now-Texas offensive coordinator Tim Beck during his recruitment, while Ohio State linebackers coach Al Washington has been Liam’s primary contact. But when he walks into Ohio Stadium for the first time in his college career, he’ll have his family in the stands watching, and no one will have any hatred toward the Buckeyes that isn’t strictly about just winning another football…
