Ohio State football vs. Penn State: ‘Why does it have to be a four-quarter game?'


PISCATAWAY, N.J. — It’s not like Ohio State’s best players haven’t played at all in the fourth quarter through the Buckeyes’ 10-0 start to this football season. Running back J.K. Dobbins, for instance, has 13 carries for 86 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Sure, he’s run it 170 times for 1,203 yards in the first three quarters of those 10 games, which is an average of 57 carries for 401 yards per quarter. That would mean he’s received 22 percent of the opportunity in the fourth quarter that he’s been given in the rest of the game. But again, he has carried the ball in three of the Buckeyes’ 10 fourth quarters, against Florida Atlantic, Michigan State and Wisconsin.
