Ohio State basketball’s Kaleb Wesson earns Big Ten Player of the Week honors


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Kaleb Wesson is the first Ohio State basketball player to earn Big Ten Player of the Week honors this season. Wesson is averaging 10.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and two blocks per game for the undefeated Buckeyes, who are ranked No. 10 in the country. This is the second time he’s earned the honor in his career. The junior forward has yet to be Ohio State’s leading scorer in a game this season, but that isn’t something head coach Chris Holtmann is worried about. He feels that despite his lack of points, this is the best he’s seen his star big man play at the college level. “He’ll be our leading scorer this year,” Holtmann said after the win over Villanova. “I don’t know what that’ll look like…but he’s not going to average 10 for the whole year.
