The Penn State report card for Indiana: Lions’ run game was the difference against underdog Hoosiers

James Franklin’s Penn State team improved its record at Beaver Stadium to 6-0 this season with a narrow victory over the Indiana Hoosiers, a 15-point underdog that was 1-21 against PSU entering Saturday’s contest. Penn State had issues at times and the Lions also were without a couple of key skill players. As a result, the game was up for grabs in the fourth quarter. Not ideal, but PSU clearly was able to move past the loss in Minnesota a week earlier. The Lions’ 34-27 victory was made possible by an improved offensive line and some gritty running by quarterback Sean Clifford. Franklin’s defense? Let’s just say it will be a critical week on the practice field for that bunch, considering who is up…
