Penn State’s KJ Hamler missed most of the Indiana win; James Franklin offers an update

STATE COLLEGE — Penn State played most of Saturday’s 34-27 win over Indiana without star receiver KJ Hamler. The redshirt sophomore returned a kickoff late in the first quarter and suffered some kind of injury when he was tackled. He walked immediately to the team’s sideline injury tent, came out and talked to the program’s medical staff, and eventually took an early trip to the locker room in the first half. The nature of his injury was not disclosed, but the receiver was well enough to celebrate with quarterback Sean Clifford in the south end zone tunnel following the Lions’ ninth victory of the year. Before exiting the game, arguably Penn State’s most explosive player on offense had totaled two catches for 52 yards.…
