Ohio State football is in March Madness and Rutgers was its No. 16 seed


PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Ryan Day dropped a March Madness reference before the Maryland game two weeks ago, so he didn’t exactly time up the theme of his message to the games on the schedule. But with their 56-21 win over Rutgers on Saturday, the Buckeyes entered their own version of basketball’s NCAA Tournament, and the Scarlet Knights were their No. 16 seed. November-December-January Madness is underway. It takes six games to win the NCAA Tournament in basketball, and Rutgers served as the first step in a six-game finish to the season for the Buckeyes if they’re going to cut down the nets, or goalposts, in the College Football Playoff.
