How Ohio State football’s Chris Olave and Justin Fields have developed chemistry on the deep ball


PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Three weeks ago, Chris Olave was coming off of his worse game since he became a regular in Ohio State football’s wide receiver rotation. Since that game against Michigan State, the sophomore has caught 16 passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns. He’ll admit that part of that is on the improvements he’s made in his approach. But a significant component of that is based on the chemistry he’s built with quarterback Justin Fields as a deep ball threat. “Going into that bye week, I wanted to get better every week and every day,” Olave said. “(Wide receiver coach Brian) Hartline was with me. He pulled me to the side and talked about it.
