No. 16 Ohio State basketball makes a statement in 76-51 win over No. 10 Villanova


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann spent most of last season’s non-conference schedule preaching that his team’s 10-1 record was not an accurate indication of the team’s ability. The Buckeyes didn’t play the toughest of non-conference games last season. This year they will be well tested by the time it gets into Big Ten play in January. That started with a 76-51 win over Villanova Wednesday night that was never as close as the score indicated. The Wildcats were the first of three “blue blood” schools Ohio State has on its schedule (at North Carolina on Dec. 4, vs. Kentucky on Dec. 21 at Las Vegas) and the only one that will travel to Columbus.
