How Ohio State basketball’s first two games prepared it for Villanova


COLUMBUS, Ohio — For the first time since 2017, Ohio State is set to play a ranked non-conference basketball opponent when it hosts Villanova tonight. The No. 16 Buckeyes come into the game a three-point favorite even though the No. 10 Wildcats are the higher-ranked team in the Associated Press Top 25. This game should serve as the first of many tests this season for the Buckeyes, and their first two games have done an excellent job of preparing them for it. Jay Wright has built up one of the best programs in the country since arriving at Villanova in 2001. The program has won 14 NCAA Tournaments and won one National Championship behind elite guard play and defense.
