COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ryan Day could call plays and Ryan Day could recruit and Ryan Day could grab the wheel of a ship in rough waters. But what would happen when things got rough on his own boat? Before this season, that’s what I wondered the most about Ohio State’s 40-year-old first-year head coach, who had three games and a preseason leading the Buckeyes during Urban Meyer’s suspension last season, but was getting his own team for the first time.
