COLUMBUS, Ohio — It’s just math. Ohio State football beat Maryland 73-14 on Saturday, and Maryland beat Rutgers 48-7 on Oct. 5, and 59 plus 41 equals maybe they should cancel next week’s game. If Ohio State wanted to, I absolutely think the No. 1 Buckeyes (9-0, 6-0 Big Ten) could hang 100 at Rutgers next week. The Buckeyes have topped 100 once before, beating Oberlin 128-0 in 1916. But that won’t be Ryan Day’s goal. I have no idea how a betting line is going to be set, however. Ohio State was initially favored by 44 against Maryland this week, then it dropped to 43.5, and it fell to 42.5 after the news that Chase Young wouldn’t play. It probably should have been 50.
