Ohio State star Chase Young won’t play Saturday vs. Maryland while the school looks into a “possible NCAA issue from 2018,” it was announced Friday. Young, a junior defensive end, leads the FBS with 13.5 sacks this season and also has 15.5 tackles for loss. He is considered a darkhorse candidate for the Heisman Trophy and a potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft. The nature of Young’s potential violation is not yet known. The school released only a brief statement to media on Friday morning. Ohio State (8-0) is No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings. The Buckeyes are a 43.5-point favorite against Maryland, but still have key games remaining against unbeaten Penn State on Nov. 23 and arch-rival Michigan on Nov. 30.
