Ohio State’s dominance through eight games earned the No. 1 spot in the initial College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday night. The Buckeyes, who have not played an opponent closer than 24 points, lead LSU (8-0) and Alabama (8-0), who alternate No. 1 and No. 2 in The Associated Press and Amway Coaches Polls. OSU grabbed the top spot despite not having a win over an opponent ranked in the Top 10 at kickoff.
