COLUMBUS, Ohio — The first College Football Rankings will be released tonight and Ohio State football is expected to be among the top four. The Buckeyes are 8-0 and 5-0 in the Big Ten with its latest victory a 38-7 domination of Wisconsin. Their best case for being the No. 1 team in the rankings is that they may pass the eye test better than any team in the country. Its offense ranks in the top 10 in the country in a handful of categories, including points per game (48.3) and total offense (521.9 yards). Its defense is arguably the best in the country allowing a second-best 224.3 yards per game and 7.9 points per game. Ohio State is joined by Penn State (9.6) as the only two teams allowing fewer than 10 points per game. Other teams expected to be among the top four are Alabama, Clemson and LSU.…
