The College Football Playoff committee dealt its first set of rankings on Tuesday, and the biggest takeaway from the first shuffle is they got it right — for now. Now, they can sit back and let the top-five teams — all unbeaten — sort it out in the regular season. It might be a surprise to some that Ohio State is No. 1 given, LSU and Alabama hold the top two spots in the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll ahead of their “Game of the Century” on Saturday. LSU is No. 2 and Alabama is No. 3 in the CFP rankings. The other small surprise would be at No. 4, where Penn State jumped over fifth-ranked, defending national champion Clemson. You know what?
