COLUMBUS, Ohio — JD Johnson of Pinnacle (Ariz.) High School announced on Twitter that his football career has come to an abrupt end a due to complications stemming from a coarctation of his aorta, a heart issue, that cannot be treated through surgery. Johnson was a three-star quarterback in the class of 2020 who had committed to play for Michigan. He was rated as the nation’s No. 384 overall player and No. 16 pro-style quarterback. Despite that Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh informed the quarterback that he will still honor his scholarship and has invited him to be a member of his staff once he enrolls. Though it will mean that the Wolverines will more than likely be looking for another quarterback to add to its 2020 class, much like Ohio State is. J.K.
