With rain forecast for Ohio State-Wisconsin football, how did the Buckeyes prepare?


COLUMBUS, Ohio – Weather conditions for Ohio State football’s Wednesday practice approached pristine — a slight chill in the air on a dry autumn evening. Buckeyes senior quality control coach Corey Dennis took care of that. Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields said Dennis squirted the football with water during each of Wednesday’s offensive periods. Weather.com forceasts a 100 percent chance of rain for Saturday’s game against Wisconsin at Ohio Stadium, with a high of 60 degrees and 14 mile per hour winds. Total rainfall could reach one inch. In anticipation of those conditions, Dennis’ spritzing prepped Fields and his receivers for potentially slippy grips come game time. “We practice with it,” Fields said. “The receivers are very comfortable in it. I think that won’t be a problem. “Our job is to limit the amount of turnovers and play better than their offense.”
