Four takeaways from Ohio State basketball as it prepares for the 2019-20 season


COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State basketball team is three weeks away from its season opener against Cincinnati on Nov. 6. The Buckeyes spoke to the media Wednesday to give an update on player injuries and how things have looked after 16 practices. Here are four things head coach Chris Holtmann and his players said: There will be some growing pains from a team filled with youth Ohio State will have a very young team this season despite the expectations. The team features seven scholarship players in their first or second season, and many of them are expected to have significant roles this season. But Holtmann acknowledged that after 16 practices, this team isn’t as far along as last year’s team was.
