At the same time, the top three members of that room could face NFL decisions at the end of this season. That makes Sunday’s verbal commitment from Little Elm (Texas) cornerback Ryan Watts potentially crucial to the Buckeyes’ future depth. Ohio State knows junior cornerback Jeffrey Okudah will be a top-10 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. It knows senior Damon Arnette will exhaust his eligibility when the Buckeyes play their final game. And it knows redshirt sophomore Shaun Wade continues to play at a high level and could be enticed to jump even without playing full-time as an outside cornerback. So adding Watts alongside California cornerback Clark Phillips III gives the Buckeyes two four-star options to help replenish the talent at a critical position.
