Michigan State drops out of national rankings following loss to Ohio State


Michigan State’s first Big Ten loss resulted a drop out of the national rankings. The Spartans (4-2, 2-1 Big Ten), who are coming off a 34-10 defeat at Ohio State (6-0, 3-0 Big Ten) on Saturday night, fell out of the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll, both of which were released on Sunday afternoon. Heading into the game, Michigan State was No. 23 in the Coaches Poll and tied for 25th in the AP rankings. The Spartans remain among the teams receiving votes outside the top 25 in each poll. The Buckeyes moved up to a tie for No. 3 with Georgia in the AP Top 25. Michigan State will play at No. 8 Wisconsin (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) on Saturday.
