Mark Dantonio says this Ohio State team “as good as any” he has faced


One of Mark Dantonio’s first coaching jobs was as a graduate assistant at Ohio State 35 yards ago under Earle Bruce. The Ohio native climbed the ranks at various stops and won a national championship as the defensive coordinator for the Buckeyes in 2002 before taking over as a head coach. Dantonio, who is well-versed in Ohio State’s tradition, spent three seasons in the head job at Cincinnati before moving on to lead Michigan State. In 16 total seasons as a head coach, he has faced Ohio State 13 times. During that span, the Buckeyes have won eight Big Ten titles and a national championship.
