The senior captain had maintained a presence around the team while rehabbing from the ankle surgery that cost him the season’s first four games. But in the Memorial Stadium tunnel, one of the Buckeyes’ most gregarious personalities announced his return with a rousing pregame pep talk. “I don’t remember exactly what he said, but he got us hyped,” said slot cornerback Shaun Wade, echoing a similar report from linebacker Baron Browning. “After that, there was no doubt we were coming to run through their house.” Cooper recorded one tackle in Ohio State’s 48-7 victory over the Cornhuskers.
