COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State outscored teams by 43.8 points per game the first five weeks of the regular season. That included wins over Florida Atlantic, Cincinnati, Indiana, Miami (OH) and Nebraska. Of the bunch only the Owls scored at least 20 points. The scoring margin ranks first in the country by 6.8 points. ESPN’s Bill Connelly highlighted the Buckeyes’ dominance as one of the most amazing things that happened in the first month of the season. They were joined by Oklahoma and Georgia who were also dominant in September.
