Ohio State football coach Ryan Day wants more from Buckeyes’ depth


COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State football’s comfortable victory over Florida Atlantic on Saturday allowed the Buckeyes to play a lot of their second-string contributors. That was the good news. Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day, however, wants more from those players when they get a chance to take the field. For instance, Florida Atlantic netted minus-10 yards in the first half and 238 in the second half. “We want to roll and play as much depth as we can,” Day said on his Thursday radio show. “When those young guys in the game, they have to take advantage of those reps.” Day singled out safety Josh Proctor, whose diving interception was one of the highlights of the second half, as one of the exceptions to that criticism.
