COLUMBUS, Ohio – Practicing together for the first time last spring, Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields and center Josh Myers earned some extra one-on-one time to build a connection. After any botched snap under center, the duo ran a lap together. That protocol carried over into the preseason as the Buckeyes prepared to re-introduce a conventional-yet-drastic wrinkle into their offense. “As they go around the field together and run together they have a little conversation about how to get it right, so it gives them a little time to think that through — a little bonding,” Ohio State coach Ryan Day said, unable to conceal a sarcastic smile.
