COLUMBUS, Ohio — Though 13 former Ohio State football players won’t be on active rosters to start the NFL season, 44 players will suit up when the season starts this weekend. The New Orleans Saints sit at the top of the NFL with five former Buckeyes, headlined by wide receiver Michael Thomas, who recently signed a five-year, $100 million extension. The new contract made the former three-star recruit the highest-paid receiver in NFL history. All but seven teams will have a Buckeye on their roster to start the season, and 13 teams have at least two.
