COLUMBUS, Ohio — When Al Washington was pulled away from Michigan to coach the linebackers at Ohio State he had to do so with a completely unbiased look at the position. He came in giving the linebackers a clean slate and not looking at the faults of 2018 where the defense struggle and they were probably the main reason for that. He watched enough of last season’s film to get an idea of the players he’d be working with, but he didn’t want to bring in any assumptions about anyone.
