We’ve seen this prelude before. Entering the 2011 season, Ohio State no longer had a national champion head coach. Its talented quarterback was gone, replaced by a first-time starter. The Buckeyes had won seven in a row against Michigan but would have to keep the streak alive in Ann Arbor. Ohio State once again finds itself replacing a legendary coach and a record-setting quarterback. The Buckeyes own another seven-game win streak against their rivals, whom they’ll visit in the final game of the regular season. Michigan hopes history repeats itself on Nov. 30 (noon, FOX). It seems unlikely that Ohio State will stumble into The Game with a 6-5 record, as it did eight years ago before losing 40-34, but this sure seems like as good a year as any for Michigan to break through.
