Michigan joins trolling of The Ohio State’s trademark request


Recent history may not be on Michigan’s side when it comes to football results, but it usually stands toe to toe with its rival on social media. On Wednesday, word spread that Ohio State has filed a trademark request for “The,” which prompted mocking from college fans nationwide and certainly folks with an affinity for Ann Arbor. Michigan’s official account chimed in with a simple tweet. That “TM” is a real nice touch. Predictably, Ohio State fans had a field day with that tweet in the replies, citing Jim Harbaugh’s record against the Buckeyes (0-4) and last year’s blowout win in Columbus (62-39).
