Paris Johnson Jr.'s two recruitments to Ohio State and his growth as a 5-star prospect: Buckeyes recruiting


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Paris Johnson Jr. is the epitome of what Ohio State head coach Ryan Day wants in a recruiting class. He’s rated as the nation’s No. 7 overall player and the No. 1 offensive tackle. He’s a preseason All-American and was the first 2020 player to commit to Ohio State. He also is an in-state product that wanted to stay home. He satisfies Day’s emphasis on landing the best in-state talent. Except Day had nothing to do with why Johnson originally chose to be a Buckeye. Neither did the university. The deciding factor?
