Linebacker Cade Stover loses his black stripe: Ohio State football news

COLUMBUS, Ohio — For the second straight day, an Ohio State freshman has lost his stripe as linebacker Cade Stover has joined the club. Stover became the sixth player — 16th player overall — from OSU’s 2019 recruiting class to officially become a Buckeye. As a four-star recruit, Stover was rated as the No. 114 overall player and the No. 7 outside linebacker in the class. As a senior at Lexington High School, the Ohio native recorded 178 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, one sack, two forced fumbles and four interceptions. That stat line made him the fifth defensive player to win the Mr. Ohio Football award. He joined Charles Woodson (1994), Andy Katzenmoyer (1995), Bam Childress (1999) and Dante Booker Jr. (2013) in doing so. Now he joins a position group looking too have a much-improved 2019 season.
