Defensive end Jack Sawyer, the nation’s No. 1-ranked recruit according to 247 Sports, committed before McCord and was involved in Ohio State securing McCord. McCord, in turn, had a hand in the signings of offensive tackle Ben Christman and receiver Jayden Ballard.
