COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State recent had some renovations done to the Woody Hayes Athletics facility adding some new parts to it. Among those additions include a barbershop, a virtual simulation room, players lounge and new additions to the Buckeyes’ training room. Other additions include a new cryotherapy chamber and float tanks in the training room. Cryotherapy puts a player in extremely cold temperature for a few minutes to help with Inflammation and to reduce pain. The float tanks — which are technically called sensory deprivation tanks — are heated to skin temperature and filled with Epsom salt. A person using it will float weightlessly in darkness as a form of therapy. It is supposed to produce different effects on the brain ranging from hallucinations to enhanced creativity.
