As part of our continuing retrospectives with the 25th anniversary of Penn State’s unbeaten 1994 season, I’ve decided to delve into a little bit of college football lore. When people believe some action or occurrence is inexplicably unjust, they often resort to fabricating elaborate rationalizations from thin air when a much simpler explanation is available. So, it was when Nebraska was voted #1 over #2 Penn State at the close of the 1994-95 bowls. Of course, this a sore point with many Penn State fans, fueled by conspiracy theorists and various central Pennsylvania pundits of the ‘90s. Not that I’ll be able to dissuade anyone.
