Ohio State pledge Cavazos all in on cornerback

BRADENTON, Fla. — Position projections are important in the college football game and the more versatile a prospect can profile at, the more potential value he can have within a particular program’s scheme. For Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy defensive back Lejond Cavazos, his prep time at the nationally-known program has been as a safety over his first two years on camps. But in 2019, the Ohio State Buckeye commitment is working at cornerback, the position he envisions his future at. “It’s my size and everything about it,” he told 247Sports at IMG Academy’s annual media day Wednesday. “I look at corners in the league and kind of match up with them knowing I can be on the outside playing man or zone. I’m not saying corner is easier than safety, but it probably is. I love safety, I was good there, but I feel more comfortable playing the cornerback position.”…
