COLUMBUS, Ohio — As the lone returner on Ohio State’s offensive line, the Buckeyes will be expecting big things from Thayer Munford. So will the rest of the country as the junior is one of the 83 players on the preseason watch list for the Outland Trophy. Munford returns to the Buckeyes after missing all of spring practice while recovering from injury. He is the only player with a secured starting spot on the offensive line heading into fall camp. The trophy is named after John H. Outland who is one of the few players in the history of college football to be named an All-American at two positions. In 1898 he earned the honor as a running back while making it as an offensive tackle in 1899.
