The clock read 8:00 remaining in the fourth quarter. On the scoreboard, Ohio State trailed Penn State 26-14 as 110,889 Nittany Lions fans clad in white triumphantly sang “Sweet Caroline” shortly after running back Miles Sanders’ one-yard touchdown run that seemed to be the exclamation point on an upset victory. That’s when Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins led the Buckeyes back onto the field with the resolve of a steely veteran, despite the fact that it was only his sixth collegiate start. Haskins proceeded to led a methodical 8-play, 96-yard scoring drive that silenced the Nittany Lion faithful and seized back the momentum. Haskins completed three of his four passing attempts on the drive for 60 yards, including a 47-yard touchdown pass. Following a Penn State three-and-out, Haskins completed two more passes on the Buckeyes’ ensuing possession and tossed another touchdown that for all intents and purposes ended the game.…
