How Ohio State football is changing its wide receiver recruiting philosophy under Ryan Day: Buckeye Take

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State’s first two scores against Michigan last November came on Dwayne Haskins passes to Chris Olave. The first was a crossing route that Olave ran in. The second gave him a chance to show off some of his skills as a wide receiver on a 24-yard score to give the Buckeyes a 14-6 lead. The Michigan game became a bit of a coming out party for the true freshman, who’d only started getting consistent playing time over the last three weeks of the season. He would cap off a solid afternoon with a blocked punt in the second half. But what stood out about Olave’s game was that touchdown with 9:11 left in the first half.
