COLUMBUS, Ohio — When Urban Meyer came to in Columbus in 2012 he brought with him a spread offense that at the time had revolutionized college football. He’d found value in the concept of a mobile quarterback and turned that into two national championships at Florida. With Braxton Miller on the roster, Ohio State had a player tailor-made for his offense. That continued under JT Barrett, who although wasn’t as electric of a runner as Miller was physical enough to get the yards needed in third downs to keep possessions alive. Those quarterbacks found success in Columbus. But Ryan Day isn’t interested in that style.
