Ohio State spring football defensive recap: Two-deep depth chart and what we learned

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State’s defense doesn’t have as many lingering questions as its offense does. Because of this, defensive questions dealt more with developing a new position, learning four new assistant coaches and getting at least an idea of what things may look like this season. Here are some things that we learned. Explaining Ohio State’s defensive backs From the looks of things, the Buckeyes are planning to start three cornerbacks with a deep safety. Damon Arnette and Jeffrey Okudah will be joined by Shaun Wade in the slot. Wade will cover the K.J. Hills and Rondale Moores of the world. The slot corner won’t have much responsibility in the run game, as that will usually be left up to the “bullet.” We didn’t see much of the new position, likely manned by Brendon White.
