Last spring, running back Saquon Barkley was spotted wearing a Giants hooded sweatshirt shortly before the NFL Draft, a foreshadowing of the team’s plans with the No. 2 overall pick, and history just might be repeating itself. Wednesday afternoon, shortly after his top-30 visit with the Giants, Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins was photographed wearing a Giants hoodie similar to the one Barkley wore last spring. Many NFL draft analysts believe that Haskins is the No. 2 passer in this year’s class, behind Oklahoma’s Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray. In his lone season as a starter, Haskins dominated Big Ten competition by passing for 4,831 yards with 50 touchdowns and eight touchdowns last season en route to leading the Buckeyes to a conference championship and Rose Bowl victory over the Washington Huskies.
