The Buckeyes are continuing to pursue top prospects from the prep talent rich state of Texas. One of their offers in the Lonestar State went out to cornerback Lorando Johnson from Lancaster (Texas) on Feb. 15. Johnson talked to Ohio State co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Jeff Hafley as he landed the offer from the Buckeyes. However, Johnson announced on Wednesday afternoon that he has committed to LSU. He made the announcement on his Twitter account. “The kid from the hood returns home,” Johnson posted on his Twitter account. The 6-foot-0 and 181-pound Johnson had 20 plus scholarship offers before committing to the Tigers. Johnson’s offer list in addition to LSU and Ohio State included Texas A&M, TCU, Alabama, SMU, Nebraska, Oklahoma State and Missouri. Johnson is a 4-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite.
