It’s never too early to look ahead. Ohio State wrapped up its 2018-19 season on Sunday with a loss in the NCAA tournament’s round of 32 for the second year in a row. Once again, the Chris Holtmann-led Buckeyes weren’t widely projected to make the field of 68, but they eked in as the 41st-overall seed. Next season, expectations change. With a deep crop of returners and the top recruiting class in the Big Ten, an NCAA tournament appearance will be the assumption, and Holtmann will be challenged to take the group further that it reached the past two seasons.
